Oh no, the 60 seconds are fine as they are, considering you can have quite a number of units. It's just the beginning was so incredibly slow. I'm generally not a fan of multiplayer turn based games anyway, as that sort of kills the flow of a game for me.

I'm too impatient, that's all.
