Really sorry if this has been answerd before, but what is xcash?

As said in the title, what is xcash? I've seen it a few times on the competitions part, and how do I get xcash?:confused:

it was a feature a long time ago, but it was removed.... it might come back someday...

Each time you started a thread +2 XCash.
With the XCash you could buy titles and glows to your name etc. And go in the lottery, it was really cool!

It sounds a bit like a little game of 'willy waving' by what Wurmy is saying. Where people say mines bigger/better than your's. I hope I'm kinda right. And I also did a bit of research and found it was on use with the old PHPBB forum. Or something.

We had it back when we had phpbbFM... Then we had it for a bit with regular phpbb, but had nothing we could do with it (which was pretty pointless)... And now we don't have it at all.

It was mainly a "I have more than you" sort of a thing, though.

I wish I was on the forums at the time of PHPBBFM... I would of had50 xcash by now! Less than j00... Probably...

Not necessarily. At that point, there was a lottory and bank, so people's monies changed drastically over night (sometimes). However, with the previous forums (downgraded), xcash could only change through posting and donations. So if you joined then, mostly everyone would have more than you.

XCash has been on and off. Here we go:
XGen founded in March 2003 (date?)--- phpbbfm
XCash removed, October 2004, due to MotherLoad
XCash brought back, roughly around the start of 2005
XCash removed again, March 2005

Why did Xcash go when Motherload was introduced? Was it because of a new part of the forum being made or something?

Appparently, all the new accounts bogged down the forums, so they had to go from PHPBBFM to PHPBB, and at the time, it had no xcash.

So what you're saying is the wieght of new accounts to save on Motherload and with the existing accounts, the strain put onto the xcash part of the server was to heavy for comfort. So they scrapped it.

Phpbbfm comes with a cash system, as far as I'm aware. Phpbb does not, though it can be added. They just didn't "get around" to adding it after the downgrade.
