If anyone can give me a template for a guitar hero sim, please post it here
Please include
(AS 2.0 BTW)
Code (and where to apply it- such as a button)
Instructions (such as make this button, make this menu frame...etc)
And what you would like to be referenced as in the credits section

i just need the code- yes that DOES make me a noob. nobody ever said anything about artwork to things such as that. I just need the basic code to make it run right. Also i want to add that nobody should go out of thier way to do this i was just wondering if anybody had one laying around that i could use

Seriously dude, you are asking for all the coding, and the instructions for what to do with it, and if it's "good enough," you'll put there name in credits?
Art and animation is less than of what it takes to make a game. Start out small, do it yourself, take about 5 minutes to read a tutorial.

This is almost as nooby as my thread a while back. xD
You can make a game with the best graphics, but no one will play it if you can't move anything.
What I'm saying is, giving you the code is like giving you a game, and that's not what we're here for.

Coding a game like that is 90% of the work.
We all have more than enough of our own stuff to do and we don't need to add "making games for noobs that wont give us credit" to our list.

And dude there already is a Guitar Hero rip-off (besides Rock Band). The free download "Frets on Fire".

Coding a game like that is 99.99% of the work.
Fix'd. At least, that's what it is from my end.

Yeah, it's not like graphics take any work. Nor does testing it, gameplay, any of that. I feel so important.
I have to agree with Rob. Art takes a hell of a lot of time and effort. It's also incredibly important. so is gameplay, a game can be coded with the best code and have top of the line graphics but be so hard to control that it's unplayable. A game can have amazing gameplay and programming but with little scribbles for art it'll get shunned. They are all equally important but neither can survive without the others.

Indeed.
Animating the characters take a chunk of time, and testing for bugs, as well.

I feel that graphics take at least 99 percent of the time.
Pfft, coding takes ages, especially when we find a bug/glitch in a script - it takes quite awhile to find a solution.

I know that all to well. Ripping my hair out trying to fix something isn't fun. I ussually sleep on it and somehow magically come up with a fix over night.

Well, we're talking about a guitar hero-style game. You know how much art a game like that needs? Not much, especially by comparison to most games.

Am i the only one here who thinks this subject is completelly pointless?
Cmon its totally relative..some games takes a ton of coding and near no graphics..or the other way around!..and we are not counting sound here as well..witch is a hell making in a guitar hero like game..
and again..theres no point in this..you could argue for months with no conclusion..

ripping off a game that's still in production is very tacky anyway....
unless of course it's fan appreciation =) or only being built as learning experience/engine for your own game =)
but besides those points, making a guitar hero sim, that actually rivals the original, meaning putting down your ps guitar and picking up a kyboard, I/m guessing will be near impossible.
As for the music, better make your own, and original music, or you'll get sued, also the music you make better be really cool.
As fot the graphics, poser models dancing in the background would suffice.
It's getting the proper sounds, the proper music, and split second response that's going to make this never happen.

Alright, lets stop this nonsense, we'll never get anywhere.
We're not here to make games for other people like that, but we are here to help and guide people towards the right way. So who wants to start?
