When scrolling through the list of threads in the forum/a sub-forum, some of them are marked with an orange envelope rather than a blue one, which, according to the legend at the bottom, mean's its a "Hot thread" - who/what determines whether it is or not?
Just curious more than anything else.

The forum decides. It only becomes "hot" when the thread hits a certain amount of posts.

A hot topic is one with more than 15 replies, or more than 150 views.
If you hover over the red envelope icon a tooltip pops up telling you this.
