For punk I'd say Alkaline Trio or Rancid.
For ska I'd say Streetlight Manifesto or the Rx Bandits.

I'm surprised someone has heard of them besides me. The only song I know by them is Lupin III, though.

You've got to get knowin' some more, man.

Energy is awesome, the hornline is probably the best there is in a rock band, and the songs are really catchy.

Sometimes some of their songs get a little repetitive. But I think that is probably because I've only heard of them via Youtube. I think if I got my hands on some albums I'd see more diversity in the music.

Try finding some CDs that were released by Moon Ska Records. Moon ska released a lot of bands that were around when third wave ska came about. The company is not around anymore, so the albums are dirt cheap to purchase.

Yes.

Also, how do Ska and Metal fit into the same list?
Because they are both associated with rock counterculture. Two completely different rock countercultures, but still....

Punk - Dead Kennedy's
Ska - prefer some REAL reggae
Metal - Dillinger Escape Plan, The Number 12 Looks Like You, the Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, Psyopus, Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, and a couple moar.

I don't understand how metal fits in with ska and punk either, but whatever.

Ska - prefer some REAL reggaeIf you weren't as intellegent as I know you are, I'd start flaming you.
However, I'll just assume you're talking about 3rd wave ska, not the sort of Jamaican ska that actually started reggae.

Psyopus
\m/
Imogen's Puzzle is one of my favorites.

Lulz, yes, I actually said that half as a joke to see what some people's reactions to that will be. But no, I'm not a fan of 3rd wave ska (that's the one I was talking about)

My favorite of Psyopus's would prolly be Insects \m/
