This a cheat I know for dragracer. After you paste your code change the last few numbers to :::::: you get stacks of money. (I think you have to change it with word processor).

Critical exploit: When you start hold down space, when you are red-lining (in 1st gear) let go of space, hold down 'n' and keep changing gears, you can get to about level 730 using this cheat, you can get to full speed in about 3 seconds.

Hacking the code: I found out how to change the level in story mode and how to read some of the files language.

The following comes from the very end of your file.

The line: MWM>837'QO>2'QD>31694234999' is read like this. MWM>837 means the level at which you are at in story mode. To find out which level you are on, simply take 1 off each digit e.g. reading MWM>768 would be read as level 657 and so on and so forth.

So the line MWM>837'QO>2'QD>31694234999' means: level 726, (i am not sure what QO>2 means), $20583123888.

So this means that you can always change your money and level, you could even start again at level 1 with $1 or you could start at level 10 000 with $583578848538563874783

Hacking the code#2: In the last few lines before MWM, there is a line that looks like this: XU>2111;GS>4'DM>6'UR>911'IQ>2211

What these mean: XU=weight, GS=frame, DM=clutch, UR=torque & IQ= horse power.

I figured this out by doing the same as what I did with the numbers, subtract one letter. This gives you WT, FR, CL, TQ & HP. Also do the same with the numbers to figure out your cars stats e.g. WT=1000 FR=3 etc. So all you have to do is type in: XU>2111;GS>4'DM>6'UR>911'IQ>2211 in the place of your original stats and you get the highest stats you can get in the game.

Hacking the code #3: In the second line after: MWM>64'QO>2'QD>319634799' There is another line, which is what car you have, since I have a porsche 911 gt1 my code looks like this: Q:22HU2' which means: 'P911Gt1' keep in mind ":" = 9. So if you want a comet, between the: MWM>64'QO>2'QD>319634799' line and the: 'IQ>2211'DO> line, you would type: BNMDS.

P.S. I once got a comet, a porsche 911 gt1 and a Mclarens F1 all to their highest stats without the cheats so i know a bit about the game so feel free to post questions to me.

I have now translated my entire Drag Racer save data, I now may be able to understand what certain things in the code mean and I might be able to find some new hacks. So far I've found nothing exiting, only miscellanious hacks like drive with no wheels etc. And I have given up on finding new hacks.

I'm on level: NaN. (NaN means: a level higher than level 888) :D Will sell save data for 200 xcash.
My car's top speed is: 473mph=761kmph.
Cash: 270 million.

There is a terrible exploit in the game, that involves nitrous (you dont need to buy it), I got past level 20 in story with my first car that I bought with no mods.

Get some upgrades, buy some nitrous fuel. Maybe your just not made for this game, do you like it? You've been on level five for ages now, it might be about time you use that cheat if you're starting to get bored of it. Tell me your formula, what car you've bought and how much money you have and I'll try to help you out. If you're really lazy send me your save data and I'll get you whatever you want within a week.

That is the end of my complaints. I would like to say that it is an entertaining game and if the final version is a free game than you have done an extraordinary job with it. And if it was all done with flash it is the most complex thing I have ever seen in that language, bravo. But if you want me to pay it needs a little more variety. Good job in any case :D

Alright most of what you said were just comments, but about the gear ratios they do make sense the lower the ratio the less rpms you need to change gear properly. The higher the gear ratio the more rpms you need to change gear properly.

It is actually a tradeoff between acceleration and max speed in a gear(at max engine RPM) A numerically higher(also known as shorter) a gear is the faster your engine will rev up but also the slower it will be going when it reaches redline


However what I was getting at was this. There are 2 different spots in a manual transmission/RWD layout that the rotating speed of the drive train changes... inside the transmission and inside the rear differential (in that order).
For my example I will use a final drive of 3.69.
Proper gearing would look something like this:

Example one

1st 4.1 * 3.69=15.129
2nd 3.5 * 3.69=12.915
3rd 2.7 * 3.69=9.963
4th 1.5 * 3.69=5.535
5th 1.0 * 3.69=3.69
6th .7 * 3.69=2.583

Notice how the final #'s gradually decrease that is why the top speed in 1st is lower than the later gears and why you cannot accelerate very quickly if you start in a later gear (the RPM that you change gears at is more a property of the engine than the transmission).

now as the cars come set at 1.00 in each of the gears
1.0 * 3.69= 3.69
1.0 * 3.69= 3.69
1.0 * 3.69= 3.69
1.0 * 3.69= 3.69
and so on

This is how it comes in the game without changing anything, yet the properties of acc and top speed as I explained before do not match up, you still can still cycle through gears with different results for each gear. Taking that into consideration it already must have staggered gears in the transmission like example one, and then it is letting you change the second gear ratio ( that would be located in the rear diff ) which as I have already illustrated is impossible because it is a fixed ratio already.

To save highlight the code, control click, a menu will appear, select copy from the menu. Open up a word processor and paste the code. Then save it for later.

1. Well I got to level 61 without any cheats, then I used the nitrous cheat until level 731, then I used the "hack the level" cheat until level NaN.

To get your weight to 100 pounds (shows 1000lbs in the game), you go into the store, go into weight and just keep getting weight reductions until you get to 1000lbs, it costs $4000 dollars for each weight reduction. :)

My gear ratios are:

1st gear: .5, 2nd gear: .7, 3rd gear: .9, 4th gear: 1.1, 5th gear: 1.3, 6th gear: 1.5. Although different ratios are better for different lengthed races, for e.g. in short race you want good acceleration but you don't necessarilly need to get to your top speed, in a long race you don't need good accerleration although you want to get to a fast speed. :) I am not sure how to properly change the gear ratios for different races so I just generaly go with that rule. But because my specs are at their max level I don't need to make my gear ratios perfect before each race but those gear ratios I stated earlier are what I use for every race. :)

Yeah, I know they eventually become physically impossible, that's when you use the level hack and bring yourself back to level one. Once I went to a level something like level 99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999 and the saleen finishes the race in a quarter of a second and beats you by 2km. (Sometimes when your challenger is fast enough they can actually exit the race track and beat you by more than the race distance! :lol: ).

Well try what I did, using the specs cheat take all your specs to their max level, (although keep weight at 1000), race in story, don't buy any modifications and then just get weight deductions until you reach 100 weight. I don't like using this cheat because for some reason you can no longer reach your top speed.

O.k first press save from the menu, when you are viewing your save data highlight it, then control click on the highlighted save data, a menu should appear, from the menu select copy and then paste it into a word processor. No need for the xcash. :)

P.S: I am now translating my entire dragracer save data, I am one quarter through translating it all. :)

Your cars minimum weight is 1000, although there is a glitch that sometimes allows you to bring it down to 100, although that glitch will not remain after you save your game and load it again, but you can always try and get the glitch again next time you load the game, but it might not work. :) I didn't quite understand what you said about the "s200".

1: Start a new game [or if you have a old save you wont to edit skip to step 3]

2: Ok if you started a new game buy your car and then save it

3: Now go to C:\Program Files\Renegade Entertainment\Drag Racer\SAVE
and open the game save with a text editor

4: You now can start the editing of your game you can edit the weight, friction, etc [you can also edit the money but it usely tells you you hacked and now you pay and you loose all your money, but if you have the pations to go back and forth from the game to the game save you can edit the money buy something and repeat this]

5: Ok now you need no money in the game to get all the upgareds [even the gt parts before they apear]

about half way down the text you start to see c0UPGRADE0=0
[there is 9 upgrades from 1 = ACME parts to 9= gt parts]

change the c0UPGRADE0=0 to c0UPGRADE0=9 and repeat this to get all the upgrades you wont with out spending any money

before i forget to edit the weight or friction you need to edit these two lines that can be found closer to the top of the game save text

c0FRAWT=1000 this is for the frame weight

c0FR=10 this is for the friction
