Damn it! Who let the Evil Helvian out of it's cage? Great; looks like he let the villagers out, too. Bear with us while we re-capture him and clean up this mess...

It's a side-scrolling puzzler that allows the user to flip the world around your character in 3D, then pop back into 2D for the gameplay. Something like Paper Mario on steroids; clever.

Innovative? Since when was spinning around a 2D world innovative? Most games now feature fully 3D cameras that can be rotated at will. Amazing right? An innovative platformer was Viewtiful Joe, which rocks according to every review. This thing looks like trash.

These news posts are getting to be garbage too. I don't care about your site redesign - it doesn't affect game development and is being incredibly overplayed. Just post saying there was a site redesign. I don't come to XGen looking for role-playing like "an evil Helvian has escaped." The hilarity of saying that the evil Helvian has been let out is non-existent.

Logic- I'm sorry we can't appeal to all of the jaded views of the internet, but what we do is appreciated by many people despite your views. I get email all the time from people who enjoy my little updates to the site.

And about Fez, we tend to appreciate innovative design because it's so core to our section of the industry. The casual game space is the freest to experiment with strange ideas and many of them blossom into full blown IPs. Perhaps this trailer doesn't demonstrate it as well, but Fez has some incredibly innovative ideas.

Two little posts about a temporary Halloween re-skin is hardly "overplaying" it, and I think people do appreciate the attempt at humor :)

What would you rather see in the news posts?

I usually do enjoy your updates - it's amazing to see life in the administration and in the company. The whole concept of having a "News Forum" where the staff directly contacts the fan-base is something new for XGen. My view of the internet is not jaded either - my view of platformers is. Seeing as the genre has been mastered and remastered many times before, this "new" take on the genre seems miserable compared with others. If you want comparisons, you can Google the keywords "best" and "platformer" and scroll through the millions of results.

Regarding the second part and aside from the sarcasm of the members, they've previously indicated numerous times throughout these forums what they want. You can ask nearly everyone and they will have some kind of complaint, mine specifically being the lack of insight into what the developers here are doing. I care more about information than how pretty it looks.

The thing is, the posts include too much information about other things. There's not much info about what's happening in, lets say, Stranded 2. It's all about the outer world, but what about the inner soul of Xgen?

Yea, news updates about XGen would be absolutely great. You know, updates that are actually not just links to other sites and do more than cater to people with short attention spans. Although I would really have missed the color change had you not posted about it. And I don't think anyone could have made the connection "Orange-Halloween". Probably would have thought it has something to do with Half-Life 2. Or cats. Cats can be orange as well.

Fez looks pretty cool, however. It might actually turn out to be Super Paper Mario in good. I don't quite understand how Logic can be so close minded as to judge the game based on the miniplatforms you see in a 48 second trailer, but hey, to each their own.
