September 18th, 2007 - City Planning Duality

Two new featured games for you guys today, both exploring the lighter and darker sides of city planning.

Tower Bloxx (http://www.xgenstudios.com/play/towerbloxx/) takes a cheerful view of city construction; an additively simple minigame which requires careful timing allows you to reach for the stars with skyscrapers stretching to the heavens. Place the buildings carefully to allow for maximum populations to inhabit your thriving metropolis.

Via Sol 2 (http://www.xgenstudios.com/play/viasol2/) is a trip to the darker side, requiring careful resource management to ensure that your post-apocalyptic civilization survives on a harsh new planet. Definitely a steeper learning curve to this one; meticulous play is required to survive -- Via Sol depends on you.

Tower Bloxxx is pretty cool. Via Sol 2 is cool, but really hard and complicated.

BTW, ive plyaed these already, i'd say tower bloxx is better. via sol is too hard.

Via Sol is insane. I have to figure it our more, but Tower Bloxx just gets boring, it's so repetitive.

Via Sol shows strategy and planning. I like it!

Tower Bloxx shows tedious clicking attempting to get the towers in a perfect line. I thought it was boring.

Via Sol seemed much better, in my opinion, even if it required some thinking. I like thinking, so I like Via Sol. It's a good addition to the games, I think.

I think via sol is better becasue it lasts longer, and I like stratigy games, one time I beat an area without retrying, plus there's more gameplay involved, I like it.

Tower blox is boring, the higher towers are harder, and the timing is awkward, it has to be dead on, you can miss the center by 1 tiny segment, and the tower wobbles even if all sections are strait, also, blox only fall if you miss-time it, and the tower never seems to come down despite how wobbly it is. The gameplay is pretty dumb [no offence], and the concept could've been better if the towers had more verieity, it's not too bad, but not too good either.

Overall, i'd give via sol a 7.5/10, and tower blox a 4.6/10

I like 'em both! Tower is a bit more my style, though; I've got enough going on without having intense strategy to worry about. ><

Pff, Mofunzone beat you to Via Sol, and the game friggin owns. Hint hint = There is no downside to Hippy power, but whats worse than being a Hippie, other than a communist.

I like them. They are both great but the Tower one I think I like best. It is more what theme I like.

Towers is pretty addictive. Via Sol, however, I closed out of after a minute of play.

I beat Via Sol on Normal, quite done with it.

I actually found Via Sol a few days before it was hosted here, and loved it. I also love Tower Blox. Great game choices!

Tower Blox is my favorite of the two and the other one is confusing.
