This thread is for properly documenting bugs.
Please make sure to check the Known Issues (http://forums.xgenstudios.com/showthread.php?t=103830) beforehand.
Note: Patch 1.0.3 is live. Please make sure your build says "Version 1.0.3" when you load it up, otherwise you may need to clear your cache.
How To Report a Bug
Please include in your report, a thorough and understandable description as well as a screenshot (http://forums.xgenstudios.com/showpost.php?p=1594528&postcount=2) (if possible) of the bug.
As well, make sure to include the following:
Operating System
Computer Specs (CPU Speed/Model, RAM, etc)
Browser and Version
Level where the bug occured
Quality Setting
Flash Player Version (v8, v9, etc)
A Screenshot (http://forums.xgenstudios.com/showpost.php?p=1594528&postcount=2) of the Issue (if possible)
Brief description of what you did or how to reproduce.Thank you.

I don't think this is a very big bug, so I won't go through all of that...

You see the black line? Well, sometimes for a brief amount of time (5-15 seconds, from at least to at most), I can't go down that low. I mean, the mouse just doesn't go there. No matter what I do, it just stays over that black line. I can move side to side and up, but if I move the mouse in a south east or south west way, it will just make a straight line.

when i first throw the hut off the trapdoor, the viligers seem to get thrown with it, and stay that way until the hut is destroyed, it also happens when the vileger bounces off, or slowly slides down the hut after bumping into the top of it

The game didn't save for me...
I was at level 16ish last night, and now I have to start over from the begining. It doesn't let me even choose to start at one of my save files. I just start from the begining...
Oh right.

I've had the same problem without the black line.
Also coins seem to be disappearing behind huts.

Try turning off mouse snapping in the options.
This might be the way it is supposed to be...
Whenever I pick up a hut I always drop it to kill anything that came out. But whenver I drop the hut on the blue/red guys they never die...I know that they you have to rip the chute for the blue guys and slam the red guys down, but does that mean they should be invincible? I doubt a parachute can block a hut.
I believe that's intentional. They're supposed to be tricky, it'd make it far too easy if you could just throw a hut on everything.
It might not be realistic, but neither is the premise of magical hands thrashing a village.

This started from about level 12, i thought it was my keyboard but i was wrong, now at level 26 its impossible to play.
i am furiously hitting the 1 and 2 buttons to try and use spells but now it doesnt work at all, atfirst it was now and again, so i used to keep using the spell menu which is just useless because my finger always got diced, but now i cant even cast spells from the spell menu. very very rarely i can get anvil to work but powergauntlet (even after lvl 2 upgrade) still just won't work at all.
i have mana upgrade for capacity and regen and i always have full mana but the stupid spells wont work >_<

This is indeed the intended functionality; This mechanic balances the difficulty, preventing huts from becoming too powerful.

A simple fix is to change your cursor state, forcing it to resnap. using a spell hotkey will fix this and if you choose not to use the spell then simple cancel it (Spacebar and move your mouse around a bit).
Npte: only works for spells that actually change your cursor such as the cage or euthenasia,

if you look in the picture, my gold is being stolen with nothing at the top, you can see its being stolen becuase the gold amount is moving

If you could just squish them you wouldnt ever have to rip parachute :D . That would definately defeat the puzzle aspect, which makes the game interesting. Prioritize your villigers; murder them in the correct order :)
As for glitches, the only one I encountered so far that I havent seen posted already is that it will pause on its own. I don't press 'p'. Could it be that I am pausing it some other way? If not theres another for you.
I also encountered the invisable line where you cant move your cursor to the bottom. I fixed it by spazing out with the mouse, and only a few villagers got away.

somtimes HOUSES effect enemys on a throw before they hit them, and the push back of the enemys is nearly doubled by 3x

They do bounce sometimes rather unexpectedly. Occaisionally the basic peasant won't die on impact after being chucked into the lower ionosphere, when usually they die from a drop of the screen height.

Well when you hit them on top of a hut with just as much speed as you would be hitting them on the ground they don't die.
The hut is at a higher distance than the ground. I'm guessing that in game, landing on the elevated surface takes away less health than landing on the ground.

I fail to see how you guys get these problems! I've yet to have a single glitch, saving problem, annoyance or anything!
This is extremely minor and i'm not even positive you can fix it, not that it matters but when loading levels in Opera they claim to load over 900% :P

Got another bug, another one that prevents you from ending the game.
If a thief is hanging from the top and stealing your money, and you click and let go without moving your mouse, he continues to hang up there. If you try to select him again, you can't. He's stuck hanging there forever.

Edit: If you throw a hut at him, you can knock him down.
Edit 2: Actually, you can't select ANYTHING, except huts. You cannot pick up any enemies after doing that.
Two things, when you beat the game it says "Game over". Not a bug but it'd be better if it said like you win or something. Game over makes it sound like I lost :P. And the credit music and the.. Space ambience music play over each other during the credits after you win.
Edit: And the space music keeps playing even when starting a new game.
Edit again: If you click continue after beating the game and you only have one save file, since it auto loads it put you at level "51" which is blank and then you win in 3 seconds and go to level 52, and it plays the credits again. One could potentially keep doing this untill.. i dunno whever they wanted i guess.

I used the newest versions of both Opera and Firefox, on high and low quality.
This game would be great if it were cleared of these bugs, which make the game impossible at later levels:
The most frustrating bug i've encountered is that sometimes when you click on the villagers running around, it does nothing. trying to grab them sometimes fails, which makes later levels frantic. i can't beat level 13 because of this. this isnt just for the villagers, but also for the spells, parachutes, pretty much anything.
The next 2 arent very important as they were fixed after i used Firefox, but in Opera the mouse gestures and using W and S to change depth both failed.
It is also frustrating that when your mouse leaves the game boundaries, the mouse continues to hold the villager, whether you are holding the mouse button or not. a workaround might be fullscreen mode, but i am not sure if i saw an option for that or not.
I use Opera and the mouse guestures and the W S keys both worked perfect for me. And mouse should let go of any villagers you are carrying when you let go of the button regardless of weather you are in the game boundries or not. It does for me.
As for the first "bug" are you just clicking them or clicking and holding the mouse button down?

Not really a bug but something that bothers me..
When you grab a object lets say a hut and hold it to the ground and move it useing the w and s keys you can't hit anyone..

You not being able to click as to be your mouse... I never run into nor have heard of this problem.

I also have an obscure one.
If you pause the game right when a peasant is coming out of a trapdoor (the thieves seem particularly prone to this), they are not paused and continue to walk, climb, etc behind the pause screen. It's hard to reproduce, but I have seen it 3-4 times now.

Looks like the trapdoor bug still lives.
I'm on level 26, maybe 27. My current spells that I've bought is the cage, freeze time, poison thing, and the gauntlet, although I didn't USE the gauntlet in this level. I also have the Level one money upgrade and level one mana batteries, and the other mana upgrade on level one.
Been waiting 5 minutes. No villagers have popped up.

Found one, every time I play somehow the screen goes red.
I seem to have stumbled upon a "script running slowly" error that happened to me twice on level 32, right after I died. The screen played the fire animation and paused for a few seconds, at which point the error showed up.
After pressing "yes" to abort the script, the trap door that let the villagers who ended my game out continued to play its open/close animation over and over, while the animation of the villager and the huts that pans towards the screen also played over and over. The only solution was to close the browser window completely and reload the game.
I believe it has something to do with the fact that I was pressing hotkeys at the time, but I can't be certain. It did happen more than once, and I will try and reproduce it some more if I can. Not sure if this is a 1.01 specific bug, but I am running 1.01.

The censor settings seem to only work on the level you change it on. At least I believe that is what is happening. When I lower it all the way the bones disapear (which seems to improve performance, but also makes things easier to see). The next level however, they are back to being permanent unless I go in and adjust the setting again.
Also, and this may have been mentioned but I'm not reading 11 pages, the red winged guys always bounce MUCH higher (above the screen) than anyone else when slamed.

this may not be a glitch but when i play on ptv and i made a "antagonest" on my first file and on my second i was gonna make a pacafist. now in sandbox and in my "pasafist" i cant use the good spells. not even the first one.
I dont knw if this is acctually a bug or just something that was ment to happen

Concerning the "hand can't go down further" thing:
It seems to me that it has something to do with the disappearing guys. I never get it to happen before they start showing up, and it seems (I haven't really tested, just noticed) that it happens when I try catching them during a disappearance.

My cursor is constantly the hand with the line through it (even when there are no knights on screen). I can also not use my anestisia (cage and freeze time work fine).

Basically, the little dudes seem to have a magnetic attraction to their huts. Whether there is something really dense in the huts, or my groovy pacifist nature affects gravity, I don't know. But when I toss up a hut, it has an amazing gravitational pull... maybe it's not a bug after all, I don't know. However, it's weird. The same goes for those stone heads...

I'm surprised no one has reported this: I lose the goddamn glove all the time. It happens at random, I can't activate my level 2 glove at all, and when this happens, I can only reload the game (and then it's back). I can activate all the other spells normally, no prob with them. When the glove is gone, it will never come back, and clicking on it does nothing. The bug seems to happen in-between games, as I don't think it ever happened while playing.
Do you have enough mana?
I've never run into that problem ever. My Power Glove is currently level 2 too.

Wow, I had the same thing happen to me with the euthanasia spell.
Yeah the first spell in both alignments does it sometimes. Just finish the round, refresh and you'll be fine.

here it does it too often, quite frustrating since reloading the game takes ages (especially the sounds). And the glove (or needle, but when you're on the bad side it's too late for the needle) is necessary.
Maybe restarting the game & buying a crap weapon as the first, so that it'll be the one that will disappear? I'll try that.

That bug is normal in flash, actually. Click and hold, move outside and let go, it stays. Just move your mouse back into the boundary and click again.

I couldn't cast the syringe power from level 19 onwards. Whenever a click on the syringe button the cursor just remains to be a hand.
When that happens just refresh your page and you will be fine.

I've FIGURED OUT THE CAUSE OF THE UNUSABLE SYRINGE/GLOVE PROBLEM.
It happens when you load a save.

I think this is a slightly different glove problem, and started today. When I start a level I can't use the glove until I've done something else. Not too much of a problem but a bit annoying.
Also, I managed to finish a level with someone still alive earlier-though this didn't bother tbh! ;)
Some times it lags me out of the game

A bug that annoys me is that if you hotkey a spell (i've done it with the gauntlet and anvil) while holding a villager, the villager and your cursor and sent to the very back of the level (below the horizon).
It really sucks out the use of the anvil...
I use firefox,
and I don't really know that much about the computer I use... sorry!
It happens on any level, as long as you hold a person and use the spell hotkey (numbers).
Edit: Another bug I found was in sandbox mode, whenever I change the censoring to "censored", I get 7 coins instead of 10 (at "18+") when I use the anvil on a normal peasant.

Are you running it from the correct xgen page? Youre not trying to access the swf directly are you?

my browser is the newest version of internet explorer and i have the latest flash (9). i also noticed that when i brought up a page while on the load screen (i.e. flash settings, security settings) the game screen just turned black when it finished loading and didn't load the game info.

Ok, I have read all the posts and still want to add a few things :blush:
I'm using windows xp, IE, and got flash 9. The game version is 1.0.1.
I've played the game a quite a lot (on low quality), now I've got all the spells (neutral, pacifist and antagonist).
1) This happens when I usually use acme anvil and freeze time only. After freezing the time a few times (both spells after the spell level 1, I guess) the game becomes slower. Not the graphich, but, the villagers begin to go out of huts one by one, and the knights can't seem to see my hand unless I put it in their eyes. This happens at any level, but the effect is worse on higher levels (at level 50, I could watch tv and play the game at the same time). Slave cage and freeze time also makes the game slow a little, but not that much.
2) Sometimes, the villagers get stuck where the slave cage drops. It's annoying because they make it hard to see things behind them. I think this happens with slave cage level 3.
3) At higher levels (I think level 35+), sometimes I win the game even though there are villagers still alive.
4) The trapdoor (after level 35+) and invisible line (for all levels) bugs are still there for me. For the trapdoor bug I usually have to replay the level. For the invisible line freezing time seems to solve the problem.
5) I'm not sure if this is a bug, but sometimes when I slam the villagers in exact diagonal to the top of the huts, they bounce back as a table tennis ball to sowhere high above the screen. Fun to watch actually:D .
I fact, I'm not trying to complain; the game is really nice, and I enjoy playing it. I loved all those details such as bandage or spell descriptions :) . Thanks for all the work.

i just tried starting the game on my other computer, and it works. the problem is, my other comp is a sucky old desktop which isn't in front of the t.v. so once again, the game loads the info page right when it loads the music 100%, so right before it shows the xgen logo

My bug report: OK, I have several issues. I started the game normally, and viewed the credits twice. (Don't ask why) I continued my game, but it got stuck while it was loading. In an attempt to exhibit my awesome omnipotent hand powers, I clicked on the little round indicator and dragged it across the screen - surprise, it worked fine, and it loaded! But here is here the problems begin. When the level showed up, there was nothing on the land: no huts, no nothing, kind of like the place where the credits begin. Well, I just doodled around, and suddenly, LEVEL COMPLETE!!!! I knew it was a bug, but I decided to save my game anyway. I continued doing this until up to about level 51, when the little black box popped up and told me the game will start up momentarily please wait. I was impatient, and I would have waited forever, so I exited out, restarted the computer and loaded the saved game. It looked EXACTLY like level 33. I failed miserably in pillaging the village, so I'm reporting this now. Here is problem number two. Whenever I kill a villager or anybody on the right side of the screen, they make no sound and die quietly, like a pet gerbil! or hamster. When I squish and flatten them on the left side, they make their die sounds like they ought to. Is this because my quality is too low? Also, how do you toggle the quality, anyway?
EDIT: One more complaint from your local idiot: sometimes, after I "accidentally" drop an anvil or some other heavy object on some villagers, COINS POP OUTA THEIR DEAD BODIES!!! OMG!!! No, that's not the real problem. When I go to plunder the loot, the mouse stops just shy of the money, and I end up watching them roll away... NOOOO!!!! I have to like jiggle the mouse up a bit for it to move past that invisible line. But this is pretty messed up, so please help. Thanks, people!

The game is in stereo. If you arent getting sounds out of the right side, check your sound setup.

That isn't a bug. It's just that you don't have the right amount of alignment required to buy it. You have 135+ alignment, when you need -40. If you want it, use the power gauntlet.

Don't slap your forehead: I'll do it for you lol. It's OK, I once had that problem too: I had someone slap my forehead. I later figured out my brain was out of alignment and all it needed was a good, hard SLAP!!! *knockout* (You're lucky you have a Vista... I'm stuck with this XP. But then, there are so many things in life that I want, and I might never get 90% of them... or maybe 50 or 40%. Byt the way, there was one or two other identical questions on the forum: you should read the whole thread before you post in it.

Yea, it's alignment alright. Um... Psst... Vista isn't all that great... it's as slow as an obese elephant when compared to XP, just as XP is substantially slower that Win98, etc. ...Seems when all they do is add a couple new features and change the visual styles they manage to cut the performance of the OS in half... *fumes* don't worry, you're not missing out on anything... (Yes, I do know a thing or two about this, I'm a freken' computer science major, I don't want to hear anyone try an suggest otherwise... you will lose that argument, I have mounds of evidence)

Oh yeah.. Come to think of it, my sister has an XP (a brand new one, before they al stareted selling Vistas in bulk) and my dad has a Vista. My sister's runs just as well as the Vista, so I think it's just that this one I'm using is just slow, stupid, and run down. lol obese elephant... But when elephants are in shape, they can run pretty fast: fast enough to make you wish you had your Viper with you!

well anyway, what happens is the thief will use his grapple on the right side of the screen and then crawl up the rope but instead of doin that monkeybars technique to get over to my cash, he just stays at the top right corner and takes my money. kinda frustrating.

I find that happens when you pause the game while he is climbing up the rope. I believe that might be the issue

This bug will make already frustrating levels even more frustrating:
When surviving a level, you save, you go to the shop, you buy stuff and go to the next level. But, when you die in that level and load from save. You immediately start the level, without being able to visit the shop and without the powerups you bought before.
If this is deliberate, it's a mean way of enforcing more practice ;)

Hi guys. I really love this game :) However, there could be a bug left in it that has been annoying me for the past days... It's been reported earlier in this thread by evildude --> spells stop functioning in the later levels. Clicking a spell or pressing the hotkey will do nothing (yes the game is in focus cause I can use my mouse in it :p) When this happened most recently: I'm currently at level 43. Just played it and lost.
After clicking retry I cannot seem to use the gauntlet anymore. The spell with the lightning effect at the window borders does seem to work. I also equipped the OMGWTFBBQ spell but haven't tested this one just now. This has only been occurring from about level 30 or so. Reloading my latest save point has worked... but only from before the spell started to malfunction which is a bummer esp when winning at this level point;)
As far as I can tell the game does this only after continuing / loading a game.
As people are posting their machine specs that might be helpful so here goes:
AMD Athlon X64 Dual Core @ 5600mhz
2 GB of PC6400 RAM

All drivers are up to date

I'm not sure how to find my specs, but i'll tell you the things I do know;
256MB RAM
Graphics card is a Radeon 9250
Browser is IE7.
If computers could move, mine would come last in a snail's race...
Anyway, there's an annoying bug where the time it takes for coins to disappear is the same whether a computer's FPS is 10 or 30, causing an annoying bug which makes coins disappear faster on a slow computer. On my computer (which sucks), the coins disappear about a second after they hit the ground which is frustrating and has cost me thousands. If you could find a fix to this then thanks :)

So after beating the game I began a new game, NOT PLUS, just a new game (I wanted to buy the good version spells). In the finished game I had maxed out the money upgrade, so I start a new game, kill a villager and I get 10 coins...I have played 23 rounds already and found out the following:
If I buy the money upgrade in the new game the peasants don't give 10 anymore, they give 4 (or whatever the amount you get on level 1 money upgrade
I exited the current round and reloaded, peasants still gave 4. I reloaded my win save, saved the win save, and reloaded the new game and the peasants gave 10 again. (NO, ITS NOT THE PLUS GAME)
Thieves give 4, unless I use the syringe, then they give more (2 or 3 more)
Parachutists/Red guys give 10, unless I use the syringe then they give 3-4
Supermen give 10, both with cage and throwing
Knights give 10, both with cage and throwing
I haven't killed any jetpack guys yet.
EDIT: Ninjas give 10, with syringe and cage too

I've had the same problem. Closing the game window and reloading will clear it up. It seems to be a factor of time spent playing rather than the level you're at.

I'm not really sure if it is a bug but anyway, when i throw a hut up in the air sometimes the villager's inside goes with it... ?
^i think this is the cuase of the trapdoor glitch, because when i play, the trapdoors that stoped working had their huts have that glitch

I had one weird glitch that happened and i dont know exactly how but
i was gonna play new game+ played level one and then decided to go to sandbox mode and after 5 seconds of being in sandbox mode the screen went to its level changing screen and i was on lvl 2 with the sandbox stuff still on i didnt get a screeny though. happened a week ago. preety cool because with an anvill or cage and about 34 zupermans you can easily get spells and upgrades :D

Well today i found out that i can only grab one person when it is frozen. When i freeze someone in sandbox mode, then i grab them and let go, i go for another person and can't grab them. I also noticed that when i let go, the villager follows the distance of my cursor, if I move to the back , the villager moves back as well.

This morning, I found that when I pick up a villager and try to throw him, it doesn't work. Immediately when I release the mouse the villager starts to fall. Last time I played, the villager would continue in the direction my mouse was moving right before I released. Now it falls down immediately when I release, so I can't even kill the most basic villager in one throw. (when my mouse reaches the top of the screen, it would normally keep getting thrown up when I release, but instead it falls straight down)

Clear your cache. The reason that is happening is likely because the xml files for the game are cached in your browser, so its using ones from the last version instead of the latest ones on the server. In this patch, if it does that it will be missing a setting that has to do with throwing villagers.
Always clear your cache if you have trouble after patches.

Is it just me, or there is a bug that makes those heroes stop on their tracks when I hit them with euthanasia (unless it was fatal)? Oh, maybe it's supposed to be this way... except that then there would be a bug that when I pause the game they remember to follow the cursor around.
Btw, they also restart their restless quest to annoy us if they fall to the ground (like when you use Omgwtfwhatever) or after they're hit by anything else - a hut, a power gauntlet, a throw

On level 50, if you let 2 escape after the pit traps, the game is over. Also, you go to level 49.

Mouse Cursor gets "stuck" at the current line when dropping a cage. It seems to be part of the autosnap, because moving up 10% of the window then comming down fast seems to work... the problem is that it makes collecting coins from the 3-4 people verry difficult.

Two problems:
When I play the game through Kongregate's website, the villagers are invisible. If I luck out and click in the right place I can see the villager in my hand, flying through the air and dead on the ground but I cannot see them before I grab them.
Second, I cannot access the game through xgenstudios link. It will tell me that the sounds are 100% loaded but the game needs to be embedded at 550 x 400.
The game seems fun if I could get it to work.
My browser is Internet Explorer 7.0 with Flash player 9.0

So, finished lev 50 :D and had two minor bugs to throw out here. Both appear to be logic rather than system, so here goes:
I had a knight in level 43 get stuck on top of the center trap door. He was stuck in the run animation with the sword behind him, charging left. I couldn't touch him, he didn't react to any action and he was impervious to my 3 good spells (I didn't have the pony spell). I beat all other creatures and he stayed stuck for at least 2 minutes, had to reload to beat the level. There were multiple other knights who were attacking, plus heros and other things going on. I believe he got stuck after I used freeze time at the same time a trap door opened that he was standing on OR coming out of. Hard to tell, lots going on.
The second bug I believe I understand and might be reproducable: I had a hero jump+save a ninja on the very edge of the screen. I believe he jumped left, grabbed him and dropped him OFF screen and the hero moved back on to the screen. I think the result was that the ninja never got marked as leaving, as I had unused pit traps that didn't trigger. I killed everything else and sat for a few minutes waiting but the level never ended.
Using FFox 2.0.12 on a Dual Core Intel 2GH w/ 2Gig of Ram and Flash 9. The version was 1.0.4 (from the xgen front page, although it looks like it's now 1.0.5). Using standard quality in flash.

I had turned off the auto-snap, but for some reason after every time I use a power, my mouse cursor gets stuck at the line.

As far as I can tell, with zero VC you get max 100 gold per kill on level 1. If I buy VC 3 times and use the + restart I still get max 100 per kill. There's no apparent bonus during the level-end update and I can't seem to find any other reason to have spent the cash.
So either I'm missing the point (certainly possible) or this is some kind of bug. :confused:
ETA: Specs, same as above. Latest verson on web site as of today.
